We offer worktrade opportunities for all of our classes. To be considered for worktrade please send an email to milkandhoneyherbs@gmail.com and introduce yourself. Please share a little bit about you- basically an informal cover letter and send a resume. I will be in touch and we’ll take it from there. I generally choose the worktrade position a month or two before class begins and often class is full by then, so if you have your heart set on class, I always want to let people know that applying for worktrade is risky! I only have one worktrade spot available per apprenticeship and it tends to be competitive.
For 2025 I’m specifically looking for:
-individuals who are able to provide admin/office assistant support
-individuals with carpentry and home repair skills
-individuals will animal care experience (chickens, goats, cats) for times we’re out of town
The Worktrade Agreement:
It’s an hour-for-hour trade i.e. a 6 hrs class (minus 1/2 lunch at class) equates to 6 hrs of trade:
-From the Roots Up Apprenticeship Year I- 48 hrs
-From the Roots Up Apprenticeship Year II- 54 hrsIn-person trade is to be completed in 6-hr increments whenever possible
-From the Roots Up Apprenticeship Year I- 8 days of trade (6 hrs each)
-From the Roots Up Apprenticeship Year II- 9 days of trade (6 hrs each)You are required to complete all the worktrade hours for the class, regardless of the number of classes you attend
Hours must be completed by the last day of class
Worktrade may include:
-garden help
-house projects (painting, d.i.y. remodeling, carpentry, etc)
-flyering
-tech support (design, flyers, etc)You will not be asked to do anything outside your skill level!
Please email me at milkandhoneyhebs@gmail.com and send a cover letter and resume to apply!
